Ben Moon is one of the world's greatest climbers who has set records on the hardest sports climbs in the world. When he's not climbing, Ben runs an international business equipping climbers with his own brand of equipment and has a team of international sponsored athletes representing the Moon brand across the world.
The challenge
Moon Climbing was well established in the EU and has recently began trading in the USA. Ben required separate EU & US e-commerce websites that connect to the same system for managing stock, sales, purchase orders, contacts and accounts; staff in Europe & the USA needed access to the same fully integrated system.
Ben used PC based MYOB accounting software which handled his accounting and stock. MYOB did not connect to Ben's website so he needed to manually update each system when sales were made, purchases arrived and stock levels changed.
Although MYOB was good when Moon Climbing was small, as the business expanded the reasons to look for a new system grew. Ben spent several months investigating different systems and speaking to other Brightpearl clients in the climbing industry before he decided that Brightpearl would be a safe partner for Ben's new venture.
The solution & benefits
Ben's Brightpearl website MoonClimbing.com supports multi currency with multi regional pricing. It automatically identifies visitors' location and displays the correct currency, pricing structure and local website content such as news and pictures.
Brightpearl assigns website orders to the closest team (Europe or US). If stock is not available in the closest warehouse, the order is assigned to whichever team can fulfil the order. Staff in different countries can collaborate through the Brightpearl system to save time & money on communications.
Sales & Purchase orders are handled in GBP, USD & EUR and are all linked to the stock inventory, so Ben can see at a glance what products he has in stock, allocated to sales orders or in transit from his global suppliers.
Ben uses Brightpearl's no hassle website Content Management System to publish the latest videos, pictures and news of his climbing team to the different climbing communities in Europe & the USA.
