Tags are used to group and categorise your contacts. You can even group your tags, so that within one group of contacts there can be subgroups. For example:
Customers:
- Active
- Failed
- Monthly newsletter
-
Potential candidates
You will then be able to view a listing of all your "Customers", so all the customers with any of those sub-tags, or filter by an individual type of customer, say "Active".
Some things to know about Tags
- Tags can be assigned to a "parent tag" to give nesting
- Contacts can be given more than one Tag. The contact is not duplicated, they are simply linked to more than one Tag.
- Tags can have a colour
- Tags can be connected to MailChimp for email marketing segmentation

You can filter your contacts listings by going to Customers > Customers by Tag or Suppliers > Suppliers by Tag. Or you can manually apply the filters on any contact listing.
