Brightpearl is set up to integrate with a number of payment providers. Each has its own requirements. Orders made using each payment method can be configured in Brightpearl to be created at a certain status. For example, you may wish for orders paid using the SecureTrading method to appear directly on your system as “Please ship”, whereas orders paid for by PayPal are only “Stock allocated” and require further authorisation before goods should be shipped.
Since Brightpearl will automatically be posting financial information to the accounting system at a later stage, each payment method should also be set a bank account into which the money will be paid. It is a good idea to create a bank account for each of your payment methods, since in the real course of business your credit card sales are not paid directly into your bank account, and likewise your PayPal sales will not go into your bank account until you do a transfer.
