Reporting

Here are details on a few reports about your products that you may be interested in:

Margin Report

Visit Reports > Products > Margin report to see a breakdown of all your items with the margin between two price lists. Choose the "Buying at" and "Selling at" price lists from the filters. The is the margin as calculated using the current price on the price list., which may not be what you actually purchased or sell the items for; for actual historical figures, refer to your sales reports or Profit and Loss.

Inventory Detail

Visit Products > Inventory detail.

The inventory detail report shows you what you have in stock right now. It uses the FIFO (First In First Out) method for valuing stock, which is why you may see multiple rows for the same item; items are listed at each different price they were purchased for. Use the filters to view inventory by warehouse, category, product type, or as of a particular date. Where you see red crosses in the Actions column means the items have been received on a purchase order, by clicking on the cross you can unreceive ALL the items on the purchase order. If you're looking for items on a particular purchase order use the filters to search by the PO reference.

Inventory Summary

Visit Products > Inventory summary.

This report shows you the total quantity and value of all your in stock items across all your warehouses. Use the filters to view stock by warehouse, by category, by product type, or a combination of these. Each item will be listed only once to provide the total quantity and value for that item whether they were purchased at the same price or not. The overall total displayed at the bottom of the report is for the items displayed on screen only. To display more rows use the filters to increase the number of results.

Retrospective Reporting

This report can also be used for retrospective inventory reporting; simply select the historical date from the filters. Brightpearl will display the in stock quantity and value for that date (as of midnight that day). Note that the allocated and on hand quantities remain current at all times.

Inventory Audit Trail

Visit Products > Inventory audit trail.

This report provides a full audit trail of changes to your inventory, both increases and decreases. This can be from receiving inventory on a purchase, shipping inventory from a goods-out note or from inventory corrections. Each change to your stock levels is listed here, the most recent change at the top by default. You'll find links to the relevant sales and purchases plus by clicking on the product name you can view details of the product item itself.

Sales Analysis by Product

Visit Reports > Sales > Sales by Product.

This report will help you identify your best selling items across all your sales channels. You can use the filters to help you answer many questions, including:

  • What was my best selling item online?
  • Which item did I sell most of?
  • Which item brought in the most revenue?
  • Which item contributed most to my profit?
  • How well did this item sell last month compared to this month?
  • How well did this team sell these items in comparison to another team?

You'll also find this report allows you to report by customer, channel, brand, lead source or product type, helping you find out exactly what you want to know about your sales.
