You will define your own steps and procedures throughout the sales cycle of your business. Brightpearl allows you to create your own sales order and credit statuses to monitor the progress as you work through your processes. Once you have defined your sales cycle and statuses you can use the Workflow to select which statuses are automatically applied to orders/credits at certain points, such as the status a new order, quote or credit takes or what status is applied when it is invoiced.
Define the Sales/Credits Workflow
- Go to Setup > Sales > Sales workflow or Credits workflow.
- Select the status to apply for each action performed within sales.
- Click Save changes.
Cancelled Status
If an order is placed on this status it will not be shown in reports.
Approved Status
Select an approved status to show the "Approve" option on sales orders and allow customers to "Add comments and approve" orders through the web portal.
Sales orders on the approved status cannot be edited, but you can change it back to your draft status if you need to make changes. For this reason your "approved" status should never be the same status that you are using for anything else, as this will result in your order being locked before you've even added anything to it.
