Derek O'Carroll - Chief Executive Officer

Derek is CEO of Brightpearl, responsible for the overall company strategy and for delivering on Brightpearl’s mission to automate retail.  During the 1990’s Derek founded two IT companies. In 1994 he founded Adnet, Ireland’s first online advertising agency building database driven websites and offering SEO services. In 1999 he founded Vordel which became a leading provider of XML security solutions and was sold to Axway in 2012. Derek joined Brightpearl from Symantec where he held leadership positions across their Enterprise, Small Business and Consumer divisions for the past 10 years. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of field sales and marketing for Norton, responsible for $1.7bn of revenue globally. During his two-year tenure, he led a highly successful transformation of the go-to-market activities returning North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific to growth, enabling the global transition from traditional CD based software delivery to a cloud-based security service.

Andrew Porter - Chief Information Officer

Andrew Porter - Chief Information Officer

Andrew is Chief Product Officer for Brightpearl and is responsible for product strategy and development as well as ensuring the highest levels of reliability and security for the Brightpearl platform.  Andrew's technology career spans over 20 years, in market-leading investment banks, most recently at CIO level. Responsibilities have ranged from running targeted, business critical programmes, to managing a technology organisation of 500+ staff across 5 major locations. Functional areas covered, include; high volume, highly available, transaction processing systems, as well as process automation, workflow and client facing technologies. Andrew started his career as a graduate programmer, after completing an MSc in Information Technology and still likes to occasionally write code, to ensure he retains a deep understanding of what it takes to develop quality software.

Jacqui Fernandez - Director of Business Operations

Jacqui Fernandez - Director of Business Operations

Jacqui leads the Business Operations team, including Revenue Operations, HR, Learning & Development and Sales and Marketing Systems.  Jacqui joined Brightpearl in 2017 with an Enterprise Software background, most recently at Autodesk and Symantec. She is CIMA qualified, and her focus is on ensuring that Brightpearl is operationally set up and enabled with the right people, the right processes and the right systems and tools, to implement Brightpearl's strategy and ensure that the organisation runs effectively.

Anthony Payne - VP of Global Marketing

Anthony Payne - VP of Global Marketing

Anthony leads the marketing team at Brightpearl, responsible for demand generation, branding, positioning and PR.  Anthony joined Brightpearl in early 2017 with more than 15 years of experience in B2B technology marketing.  He has held marketing and product management leadership positions at General Electric, GXS and BlackBerry and for the last four years has been building marketing, demand generation and product marketing teams at PE-backed B2B SaaS start-ups including Netbiscuits and Socialbakers. Anthony holds a master’s degree in history from King’s College, London.

Stuart Pick - VP of Sales

Stuart Pick - VP of Sales

Stuart leads the UK sales team, responsible for onboarding new customers, supporting and growing Brightpearl's network of channel partners, and the provision of new and additional services to existing clients. Stuart has worked in cloud technology since 2005, split between vendors such as intY and Oracle, and managed services organisations such as Specialist Computer Centres. Since joining Brightpearl in 2011, Stuart was initially responsible for new business sales supporting both the UK and US, and now acts as VP Sales in the UK. Stuart enjoys meeting new and existing clients and partners, and can often be found supporting and speaking at local ecommerce events.

Michael Sherman - VP of Sales

Michael Sherman - VP of Sales

Michael is a seasoned business development and sales professional with expertise working with enterprise solution providers, ranging from SMB to Fortune 500 companies. He has successful experience in channel development and sales, direct sales, lead generation, and building effective teams that are consistently top performers. Sherman comes to Brightpearl most recently from NetSuite, where as a manager, business development, he lead and managed a team of 10 or more business development representatives prospected across the US, and industries including retail, wholesale distribution, software, and services to grow the company's sales pipeline. Prior to NetSuite, Sherman moved to Austin for a startup company called Spanning where he helped build the channel organization. When Spanning was acquired by EMC in October 2014, he was an International Account Executive responsible for working with and selling to companies headquartered outside of the United States. He studied finance at Arizona State University, W. P. Carey School of Business, Tempe, Arizona.

Justin Press - VP of Customer Success

Justin Press - VP of Customer Success

Justin is VP of Customer Success and has been with Brightpearl from the start. He has worked in many areas of Brightpearl ranging from Product Design to Implementation. He has 12+ years experience delivering technology solutions to businesses of all sizes. Prior to Brightpearl, Justin managed teams and projects delivering Sage and other ERP solutions across varying sectors in EMEA; from retail to oil & gas. Justin's key focus is to optimize the process for delivering exceptional customer experiences post sale.
