About the role

As a Website Developer with a genuine passion for web development you will be owning our website! From helping to define the objectives, to working with our design, product and content teams, you will develop, maintain and optimise the site in order to improve the visitor experience and conversion rates. You must be highly organised, able to prioritise to deliver against a plan whilst being able to work effectively under pressure. This is a fast moving and dynamic environment, and you must be able to manage multiple projects and not afraid to ask questions or offer alternatives to meet plans.
This role has a broad scope - you will be capable of developing web pages from scratch working from designs provided by our in-house graphic designer, but you’ll also need be highly proficient in Google Analytics and understand how to build and execute a continuous improvement plan using data to increase conversions. You’ll be familiar with working within a team to take web projects from concept to completion
As a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, you’ll have the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people (including remote teams), as you will be expected to provide feedback to designers and content writers regarding the feasibility of a particular concept.
The role is within the Marketing team and can be based in our Bristol office or remotely with regular travel to Bristol.

Requirements

As a Web Developer you will....

  • Own the technical aspects of the website, including managing the various website platforms and properties

  • Develop and execute the website plan in support of the demand generation strategy

  • Work with the inbound marketing team to drive the SEO strategy

  • Build new pages based on designs and content from the team using a combination of modern HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript (jQuery/ES6) as well as our CMS

  • Through the use of data, continuously improve the performance of the website as measured by conversion rates to sales pipeline

  • Own the web performance reporting using Google Analytics and relevant tools

  • Support the marketing team as they publish web content

  • Ensure we have a high-performing website - fast to load and mobile-friendly

  • Stay abreast of modern web development and SEO techniques and be recognised as the web and SEO expert on the team

  • Support the requirements for other website stakeholders, including HR, the product teams and PR

You should have...

  • At least two years experience in a similar role, including responsibility for developing bespoke web pages from design to HTML

  • Strong SEO expertise - familiarity with the core concepts and techniques to optimise a site for search, and the necessary technical knowledge to implement an SEO strategy

  • Strong HTML, CSS and Javascript (jQuery/ES6) skills

  • Experience implementing a design into a CMS system and you should be comfortable with a range of templating systems/languages

  • Business acumen and the ability to provide input into the wider marketing team, including identifying how our web platforms can support particular areas/campaigns

  • Experience of working on both the UX and UI of a websites as well as ensuring it is optimised for performance and conversion

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other web analytics tools.

  • Knowledge of SEO keyword tracking tools.
