The end of September already? That can only mean one thing, it’s time for our monthly recap of the best retail and ecommerce stories to hit our screens this month.

September has certainly been full of tonnes of great content with the fashion industry taking center stage and the holiday season content in full swing as we inch ever so closer to the busiest shopping period of the year.

Optimizing your inventory management is important at any time of year but it’s even more crucial during the holiday season as it’s easy to lose control in the busy shopping periods. Our CEO, Derek O’Carroll, shared some great tips with our partner, ShipStation, to make sure your inventory is in check so you can have your best holiday season yet.

2. News: ‘Runway to retail: How fashion brands are introducing ‘see-now, buy-now

The fashion weeks have taken over this month from London to New York and Milan to Paris, it’s been a big month for fashion. There was one topic of conversation which took center stage… shoppable catwalks as the ‘see now, buy now’ strategy begins to become a reality.

The need for immediacy in the fashion industry is becoming very prominent and accessibility of new-season collections is become easier. Topshop launched ‘Runway to Retail’ at London Fashion week (which can be seen in the video above) by making their collection available immediately after the show. Other retailers including Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford also adopted the idea of shoppable catwalks. Read Econsultancy’s article to find out more.

For the majority of retailers the holiday season is the busiest time of year and although you’ve probably completed most of your holiday preparations, there’s plenty of last minute tips you can follow to have a successful holiday season. We thought we’d help you out by launching our ‘Holiday Season Secrets to Retail Success’ which will feature lots of useful tips to help you survive the hectic holiday season.

We’ve already published reams of great holiday season content to help you out including our Key Holiday Shopping Dates Calendar which you can download, print and put up on your wall so you’re reminded of all those key dates in November and December.
